Lakefield rolls over Georgina, 6-0

The Lakefield Chiefs were firing on all cylinders against the Georgina Ice, and when the final buzzer sounded Chiefs emerged with a 6-0 win.

Lakefield was led by Dalton Hill, who grabbed one goal. Hill scored 7:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lakefield. Ryan Anderson picked up the assist.

The Chiefs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Georgina power plays. Georgina was unable to stop Lakefield from sending pucks towards the net, and the Chiefs eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Lakefield also got points from Patrick Young, who also had one goal and one assist, Joe Sargeant, who also registered one goal and two assists, Eric Oosting, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Nick Julian, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Lakefield also got a goal from Hunter Hotrum as well. More assists for Lakefield came via Josh Duggan, who had one and Travis Brault, who had three.

The Ice managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Georgina ended up below its season average of 23.0 penalty minutes per game. The Ice could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Georgina puts an average of 2.6 pucks into the net per game.

Zach Wainman recorded 24 saves for Lakefield. The Chiefs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Ice's Vincenzo DElia stopped 33 shots out of the 39 that he faced.
