The Uxbridge Bruins used a four-goal second period to put away the Georgina Ice, 8-0. Jake Joosten spearheaded the defensive effort for Uxbridge, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 27 saves for the shutout. Joosten managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.0 prior to the game. Shane Smith had one goal and two assists to lead the Bruins. Smith scored 4:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Uxbridge. Uxbridge put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Georgina to score on any of its seven power plays. The Bruins' defensive play was more effective than usual against the Ice. Uxbridge gives up 2.6 goals on average per game. The Bruins' offense rang up 54 shots on Georgina's net. Uxbridge found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Bruins average 4.0 goals per contest. Uxbridge additionally got points from Daryl Thomson, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Jarett Smith, who also registered one goal and one assist. Uxbridge also had goals scored by Todd Winder, who had three and Alex Siblock and Owen Scuralli APM, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Uxbridge were Marco Mastrangelo, who had two and Adam Bartholomew, Robert Freckleton, Jason Simmonds, Korey Brand, and Patrick Bolahood, who each chipped in one. The Ice's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on 11 Uxbridge power plays. Georgina was held below its usual level of production. The Ice put an average of 2.7 pucks into the net per game. Georgina's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Ice finished with 62 penalty minutes. Uxbridge incurred 44 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Vincenzo DElia recorded 46 saves for Georgina. For the Ice, Derek Risebrough APM was ejected from the game.
