The Uxbridge Bruins relied on the scoring touch of Marco Mastrangelo, who netted two goals, to beat the North Kawartha Knights, 5-2. Mastrangelo scored at 10:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Uxbridge and again while 19:06 into the second to make the score 5-1 Uxbridge.Uxbridge forced Knights' netminders to work between the pipes, totaling 40 shots and forcing 35 saves. Brenton McKenzie Crowe made 14 stops and James Hack made 21. The Bruins' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four North Kawartha power plays. Uxbridge also got points from Shane Smith, who also registered one goal and one assist and Todd Winder, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Uxbridge also got a goal from Daryl Thomson as well. In addition, Uxbridge received assists from Jarett Smith, who had two and Adam Bartholomew, Jason Simmonds, Korey Brand, and Liam Knoll, who each chipped in one. Uxbridge's Jake Joosten stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Bruins incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Uxbridge, Aiden Reilly was ejected from the game. North Kawartha incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
