The Uxbridge Bruins' Jarett Smith scored 4:19 into overtime to beat the Clarington Eagles, 2-1 (OT). Uxbridge was led by goalie Brandon Francey, who finished with 50 saves while allowing one goal. Francey certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.57 entering the contest. The Bruins were led by Smith, who tallied one goal. Uxbridge kept Clarington's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Caruana made 29 saves on 31 shots. Uxbridge also got a goal from Shane Smith as well. In addition, Uxbridge received assists from Connor Evans, who had one and Todd Winder, who had two. The Eagles put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Bruins to score on any of their four power plays. Clarington did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Eagles put an average of 3.8 pucks into the net per game. Clarington forced Uxbridge goalie Francey to work between the pipes, taking 51 shots. The Eagles were led by Jake Carter, who scored the team's only goal. Carter scored on the power play 14:37 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Clarington had gotten the advantage when the Bruins' Winder was sent off for high sticking. Jarod Hollister picked up the assist. Uxbridge incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Eagles incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
