Port Perry penalty kill dominates in 2-1 defeat of Uxbridge

Despite having to fight off several power plays, the Port Perry Mojacks were able to defeat the Uxbridge Bruins, 2-1.

Port Perry was led by Kyle Schweda, who had one goal. Schweda scored 16:09 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Port Perry. Lucas Clark picked up the assist.

The Mojacks did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Port Perry puts an average of 4.4 pucks into the net per game.

Cole Murray also scored for Port Perry. Other players who recorded assists for Port Perry were Kyle Powell and Graham Lamers, who each chipped in one.

Uxbridge was held below its usual level of production. The Bruins average 3.9 goals per game.

Uxbridge was led by Carter Vahey, who scored the team's only goal. Vahey scored on the power play 11:57 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Bruins had gained a power play chance when Schweda was whistled for slashing. Adam Bartholomew assisted on the tally.

The Mojacks' Blake Shaw stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Port Perry incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For the Mojacks, Konrad Piorkowski was ejected from the game. Brandon Francey made 27 saves for Uxbridge on 29 shots. The Bruins incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Uxbridge ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Marco Mastrangelo was ejected from the game.
