Mastrangelo's goals lift Uxbridge to 7-3 victory over Georgina

The Uxbridge Bruins relied on the scoring touch of Marco Mastrangelo, who netted four goals, to beat the Georgina Ice, 7-3.

Mastrangelo notched his first tally 3:48 into the second period. He then added goals at 8:09 into the second, at 17:05 into the second, and at 6:12 into the third.

Uxbridge forced Georgina goalie Vincenzo DElia to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots. The Bruins bested their season scoring average. This season, Uxbridge averages 3.8 goals per contest.

Uxbridge additionally got points from Tyson Eastgate, who also finished with three goals and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Uxbridge received assists from Korey Brand and Connor Evans, who contributed one each and Carter Vahey and Jarett Smith, who each chipped in two.

The Ice kept the Bruins' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon Francey made 43 saves on 46 shots. Georgina could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Ice were helped by Justin Wain, who grabbed one goal. Wain scored 19:38 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Uxbridge. Bradley Evans picked up the assist. Georgina also got a goal from Mark Gavrilov as well. More assists for Georgina came via Brandon Basler, Brett Theissen, and Derek Risebrough, who contributed one each.

Uxbridge totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major and went 2-for-7 on the power play. Team's Aiden Reilly and Jordan Nesbitt were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Vincenzo DElia made 40 saves for Georgina on 47 shots. The Ice registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
