Moore lifts Little Britain over Lakefield, 5-2Lakefield-Smith CC Tue, Nov 18, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Little Britain Merchants relied on the scoring touch of Kurtis Moore, who netted two goals, to beat the Lakefield Chiefs, 5-2. Moore scored at 10:41 into the second period to make the score 2-2 and again while 11:04 into the third to make the score 4-2 Little Britain.Little Britain stifled Lakefield's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Little Britain additionally got points from Brett Doble, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Little Britain included Aidan Renouf and Hayden Long, who scored one goal each. More assists for Little Britain came via Terry Snoddon, who had one and Mackenzie Smith, who had two. The Chiefs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Lakefield did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Chiefs put an average of 4.2 pucks into the net per game. Lakefield kept the Merchants' goalie busy throughout the game, and Adam Harris made 34 saves on 36 shots. The Chiefs were led by Travis Brault, who racked up one goal and one assist. Brault scored short handed 7:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lakefield. Lakefield found itself down a man on Keenan Runnalls's tripping. Lakefield also got a goal from Patrick Young as well. Little Britain incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kevin Collins recorded 19 saves for the Chiefs. Lakefield incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
