The Clarington Eagles had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over the Georgina Ice. Clarington's Tyler Caruana was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 34 saves and let only one puck past him. Caruana certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.29 entering the contest. The Eagles' penalty kill excelled, as Clarington gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. The Eagles stifled Georgina's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Clarington forced the Ice goalie Vincenzo DElia to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. The Eagles were helped by Jim Allen, who had one goal. Allen scored on the power play 4:08 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Clarington. A tripping penalty on Mark Gavrilov had put Clarington on the power play. Mackenzie Morissette picked up the assist. Clarington also got points from Jake Carter, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Clarington included Jarod Hollister, Blane Gaudon, and Brodie Myers, who each put in one. More assists for Clarington came via Justin Holiad and Cody Kean, who each chipped in one. Georgina's offense rang up 35 shots on the Eagles' net. The Ice were led by Bradley Evans, who scored the team's only goal. Evans scored 18:32 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Clarington. Derek Risebrough provided the assist. Clarington incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Vincenzo DElia made 38 saves for Georgina on 43 shots. The Ice incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
