Carnevale nets hat trick, leads Port Perry to 10-2 win over Georgina

Alex Carnevale netted a hat trick to lead the Port Perry Mojacks over the Georgina Ice, 10-2.

Carnevale's first goal came 6:46 into the first period. He then added goals at 8:24 into the first and at 6:53 into the second.

Georgina's 10 penalties came back to haunt it, as the Ice let up four goals while on the penalty kill.

Georgina was unable to stop Port Perry from sending pucks towards the net, and the Mojacks eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Port Perry's goal total was higher than its season average. The Mojacks average 4.4 goals per game.

Port Perry also got points from Stevie Sampson, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Kyle Powell, who also registered one goal and one assist, Graham Lamers, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Evan Wasylyk, who also had one goal and two assists. Lucas Clark also scored for Port Perry. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Cole Murray, who had three, Ben Kerry APM, Matthew Doucette, Ryan Bernardes, and Liam Schweda, who each chipped in one, and Kyle Schweda and Konrad Piorkowski, who contributed two each.

The Ice were led by Derek Risebrough, who tallied one goal. Risebrough scored 17:42 into the third period to make the score 10-2 Port Perry. Mark Gavrilov assisted on the tally. Georgina also got a goal from Brandon Basler as well. More assists for Georgina came via Ryan Kernohan, who had one.

Port Perry's Jeff Julien stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Mojacks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Lennon Gowan made 25 saves for Georgina on 35 shots. The Ice incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. For Georgina, Dan Foster was ejected from the game.
