Little Britain beats Uxbridge 4-2 after comeback scare

The Little Britain Merchants survived a determined comeback attempt by the Uxbridge Bruins on the way to a 4-2 win.

A goal by Terry Snoddon put Little Britain up 4-1 in the second period, but Uxbridge pulled to within two on Aiden Reilly's tally 16:19 into the third period.

The Merchants got the win thanks to a great game by Snoddon, who had two goals and one assist. Snoddon scored the first of his two goals at 15:42 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Little Britain. Mackenzie Smith picked up the assist. Snoddon's next tally made the score 4-1 Little Britain with 2:52 left in the second period. Little Britain had gotten the advantage when the Bruins' Brandon Francey was sent off for tripping. Kurtis Moore provided the assist.

The Merchants' penalty kill managed to stymie Uxbridge's power play, giving up only one goal while playing with a man down. Little Britain's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Merchants finished with 28 penalty minutes.

Little Britain also got points from Jesse Craig, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Little Britain also got a goal from Brett Doble as well. More assists for Little Britain came via Riley Jenkins, who had one.

The Bruins kept Little Britain's goalie busy throughout the game, and Garrett Haden made 34 saves on 36 shots.

Uxbridge was helped by Marco Mastrangelo, who grabbed one goal. Mastrangelo scored 8:39 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Little Britain. Alex Siblock picked up the assist. In addition, Uxbridge received assists from Jarett Smith, who had one.

The Merchants registered one goal on five power play opportunities. The Bruins' Francey stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Uxbridge incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
