The game between the Clarington Eagles and the North Kawartha Knights was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Clarington emerged with a 3-2 win. No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Brent Hambly at 7:59 of the third period. The Eagles' penalty kill excelled, as Clarington gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. The Eagles were paced by Hambly, who registered one goal. Clarington stifled North Kawartha's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Clarington also got points from Justin Holiad, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Clarington also got a goal from Blane Gaudon as well. More assists for Clarington came via Mark Killingbeck, Brad Down, Dylan Howorko, and Darby Medd, who each chipped in one. The Knights' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Clarington power plays. North Kawartha was helped by Russell Fontyn, who grabbed one goal. Fontyn scored short handed 2:33 into the third period to make the score 2-1 North Kawartha. The Knights found themselves down a man on Braden Frise's interference. Alex Gonyou also scored for North Kawartha. In addition, North Kawartha received assists from Ryan Miehm, who had one. Tyler Caruana made 16 saves for the Eagles on 18 shots. Clarington incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Eagles, Jake Carter was ejected from the game. North Kawartha's James Hack stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Knights incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
