Little Britain holds on for 4-3 win against Georgina

The Georgina Ice tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Little Britain Merchants would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

Little Britain made the score 4-2 on a goal by Kurtis Moore at 10:31 in the third period, and Georgina got as close as 4-3 when Brett Theissen scored 18:00 into the third period.

The Merchants pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 29 penalty minutes.

Little Britain additionally got points from Terry Snoddon, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Little Britain also had goals scored by Mackenzie Smith and Brad Ward, who scored one goal each. More assists for Little Britain came via Jesse Craig, Brady Martin, and Jesse Beers, who each chipped in one.

The Ice's offense rang up 34 shots on Little Britain's net. Georgina had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just one goal on nine chances.

The Ice were led by Bradley Evans, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Evans scored on the power play 9:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Georgina. Georgina earned a power play opportunity when Brant Foster was put in the box for interference. Derek Risebrough provided the assist. Georgina also got points from Theissen, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Georgina also got a goal from Brett Thomson as well. In addition, Georgina received assists from Brandon Basler, who had one.

Adam Harris made 31 saves for the Merchants on 34 shots. Little Britain registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For the Merchants, Kyle ODonnell was ejected from the game. The Ice's Ethan Slimkowich stopped 25 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Georgina incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
