Uxbridge's Smith deadly on offense in 5-2 win against GeorginaUxbridge Arena Tue, Oct 21, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Uxbridge Bruins relied on the scoring touch of Jarett Smith, who netted two goals, to beat the Georgina Ice, 5-2. Smith found the back of the net 4:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Uxbridge and again while 14:18 into the third to make the score 4-2 Uxbridge.Uxbridge kept Georgina's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ethan Slimkowich made 35 saves on 40 shots. Daryl Thomson also scored for Uxbridge. More assists for Uxbridge came via Alex Williamson, who had two and Carter Vahey, Korey Brand, Aiden Reilly, and Marco Mastrangelo, who contributed one each. The Ice's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Uxbridge power plays. Georgina was led by Derek Risebrough, who had one goal and one assist. Risebrough scored 9:43 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Georgina. Brett Theissen provided the assist. Georgina also got a goal from Brandon Basler as well. In addition, Georgina received assists from Mark Gavrilov and Justin Wain, who each chipped in one. Jake Joosten rejected 22 shots on goal for the Bruins. Uxbridge incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Ice totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For Georgina, Wain was ejected from the game. |
