Little Britain survives Port Perry comeback, wins 4-2

The Port Perry Mojacks tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Little Britain Merchants held on for a 4-2 victory.

Little Britain took a 4-1 lead during the second period, only to have Port Perry storm back on a Konrad Piorkowski goal 3:49 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

Terry Snoddon had two goals to lead the Merchants to victory. Snoddon's tallies came at 2:58 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Little Britain and on the power play 11:17 into the first to make the score 3-0 Little Britain.

Little Britain stifled the Mojacks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Merchants forced Port Perry goalie Blake Shaw to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. Little Britain was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 24 penalty minutes.

Others who scored for Little Britain included Nathan Hughes and Brett Doble, who each put in one. In addition, Little Britain received assists from Kurtis Moore, who had two and Jesse Craig, Aidan Renouf, and Brady Martin, who each chipped in one.

The Mojacks' power play was punchless, and failed to score a single goal despite having 10 power play opportunities.

Kyle Powell also scored for Port Perry. More assists for Port Perry came via Eric MacDonald and Andrew Crichton, who contributed one each.

Garrett Haden rejected 27 shots on goal for the Merchants. Little Britain registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Shaw recorded 30 saves for Port Perry. The Mojacks incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
