Port Perry vanquishes North Kawartha in shootout, 4-3 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Port Perry Mojacks defeated the North Kawartha Knights in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).

The two teams needed six turns to complete the shootout.

Port Perry overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Mojacks fell behind 2-0 after a goal by North Kawartha's Christian Lachapelle at 13:52 in the first period. Port Perry tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Graham Lamers at 1:10 in the third period.

Port Perry additionally got points from Ryan Nichols, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Todd McNair also scored for Port Perry. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Stevie Sampson, Ryan Bernardes, Liam Schweda, and Owen Bateman, who each chipped in one.

North Kawartha also had goals scored by Russell Fontyn and Ryan Miehm, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for North Kawartha were Zack Pearson, who had one and Tanner Hamilton and Regan Kennedy, who each chipped in two.

The Mojacks' Jeff Julien stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Port Perry incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. James Hack rejected 26 shots on goal for the Knights. North Kawartha incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
