The Little Britain Merchants tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Uxbridge Bruins held on for a 3-1 victory. Uxbridge made the score 3-0 on a goal by Jordan Nesbitt at 9:22 in the second period, and Little Britain got as close as 3-1 when Curtis Lee scored 3:26 into the third period. The Bruins' Brandon Francey was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 27 saves and let only one puck past him. Francey certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.78 entering the contest. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 19:26 into the second period. Eight fighting penalties were dished out along with seven game misconducts. Uxbridge's penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 13 minors and four majors for 46 minutes in penalty time. The Bruins surpassed its season average of 26.0 penalty minutes per game. Uxbridge forced the Merchants goalie Garrett Haden to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. The Bruins excelled on the penalty kill, only allowing Little Britain to get one power play goal on 11 chances. Uxbridge was helped by Robert Freckleton, who registered one goal. Freckleton scored 7:51 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Uxbridge. Jason Simmonds picked up the assist. Uxbridge additionally got points from Nesbitt, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Uxbridge also got a goal from Connor Evans as well. More assists for Uxbridge came via Adam Bartholomew, Daryl Thomson, and Tyson Eastgate, who contributed one each. The Merchants racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 10 minors and four majors for 50 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 24.0 minutes per game Little Britain had been spending in the box. The Merchants could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Little Britain averages 4.1 goals per game. Other players who recorded assists for Little Britain were Hayden Long and Brad Ward, who each chipped in one. The Bruins registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. For Uxbridge, Carter Vahey, Patrick Bolahood, Eastgate, Matt Pollard, and Thomas Sheedy were ejected from the contest. The Merchants' Haden stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Team's Jesse Craig, Lee, Kyle ODonnell, and Brett Doble were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
