In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Clarington Eagles escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Georgina Ice.

Clarington gained the winning advantage on a goal by Jake Carter 17:07 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer.

The Eagles were paced by Carter, who tallied one goal and one assist.

Clarington also got points from Mitchell Marchbank, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Clarington also got a goal from Brad Down as well. Other players who recorded assists for Clarington were Mackenzie Morissette, who had two and Jarod Hollister and Brodie Myers, who each chipped in one.

Georgina forced Clarington goalie Max Tjin to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

The Ice were helped by Brett Theissen, who had one goal. Theissen scored 22 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Georgina. Justin Wain picked up the assist.
