Uxbridge squeaks by North Kawartha, 4-2

The game between the Uxbridge Bruins and the North Kawartha Knights was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Uxbridge emerged with a 4-2 win.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Dylan Locke's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The Bruins were led by Locke, who racked up one goal. Locke scored 17:25 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Uxbridge. Shane Smith assisted on the tally.

Uxbridge stifled North Kawartha's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bruins kept the Knights' goalie busy throughout the game, and James Hack made 32 saves on 36 shots.

Uxbridge also got points from Smith, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Uxbridge also had goals scored by Tyson Eastgate and Jarett Smith, who scored one goal each. In addition, Uxbridge received assists from Daryl Thomson, Korey Brand, Marco Mastrangelo, Patrick Bolahood, Alex Williamson, and Matt Pollard, who each chipped in one.

North Kawartha was helped by Eddy Whitmore, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Whitmore scored 9:53 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North Kawartha. Jesse Douglas provided the assist. North Kawartha additionally got points from Douglas, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for North Kawartha came via Matt Douglas, who had one.

Jake Joosten rejected 19 shots on goal for Uxbridge. The Bruins incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Knights incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
