Port Perry shrugs off penalties, upends North Kawartha, 4-1Scugog Memorial Arena Sun, Sep 28, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
Despite having to fight off several power plays, the Port Perry Mojacks were able to defeat the North Kawartha Knights, 4-1. Port Perry was paced by Konrad Piorkowski, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Piorkowski scored 4:57 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Port Perry. Jeff St. Pierre provided the assist. The Mojacks were held back by their power play unit, which tallied two goals on 11 chances. Port Perry struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 32 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays. Port Perry additionally got points from Cole Murray, who also registered one goal and one assist and Kyle Powell, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Port Perry received assists from Lucas Berkers, Andrew Crichton, and Liam Schweda, who contributed one each. North Kawartha could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game. Blake Shaw made 21 saves for the Mojacks on 22 shots. The Knights' starting goalie, Benton McKenzie Crowe, made 25 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of James Hack, who stopped zero shots.
