Uxbridge falls to Port Perry in overtime, 4-3 (OT)Uxbridge Arena Fri, Sep 26, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Port Perry Mojacks pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Uxbridge Bruins on a clutch goal by Kyle Schweda. Lucas Clark was all over the ice for Port Perry, as he tallied two goals in the win. Clark scored on the power play at 6:06 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while 19:59 into the second to make the score 2-2. Uxbridge's power play was ineffective against the Mojacks' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. Team could not crack the Bruins' penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having 12 opportunities to play with the man advantage. Port Perry found itself short handed often, totaling 36 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays. Port Perry additionally got points from Schweda, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Cole Murray also scored for Port Perry. Other players who recorded assists for Port Perry were Lucas Berkers, Kyle Powell, and Owen Bateman, who each chipped in one. Uxbridge was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 50 penalty minutes. The Bruins were helped by Connor Evans, who finished with one goal. Evans scored on the power play 19:30 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Uxbridge. Uxbridge had gained a power play chance when Matthew Doucette was whistled for cross checking. Carter Vahey assisted on the tally. Uxbridge also had goals scored by Daryl Thomson and Alex Williamson, who scored one goal each. More assists for Uxbridge came via Jordan Nesbitt and Jarett Smith, who contributed one each.
