The Clarington Eagles tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Lakefield Chiefs held on for a 4-3 victory. A goal by Nick Julian put Lakefield up 4-2 in the third period, but Clarington pulled to within one on Brad Down's tally 18:14 into the third period. The Chiefs were led by Julian, who racked up one goal. Julian scored on the power play 17:45 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Lakefield. Lakefield had gotten the advantage when the Eagles' Blane Gaudon was sent off for roughing after whistle. Jayd Killingbeck picked up the assist. The Chiefs kept Clarington's goalie busy throughout the game, and Max Tjin made 32 saves on 36 shots. Lakefield additionally got points from Killingbeck, who also had one goal and one assist. Lakefield also had goals scored by Aaron Vatcher and Travis Brault, who each put in one. More assists for Lakefield came via Eric Oosting, who had two and Hunter Hotrum, Riley Campbell, and Connor Blair, who contributed one each. The Eagles forced Lakefield goalie Kevin Collins to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Others who scored for Clarington included Jarod Hollister and Cody Kean, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Clarington were Mackenzie Morissette, who had one and Jake Carter, who had two. Collins rejected 29 shots on goal for the Chiefs. Lakefield incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Clarington incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Eagles ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kean was ejected from the game.
