The Wellington Dukes' Will Cook scored 4:51 into overtime to beat the Cobourg Cougars, 3-2 (OT). Wellington was led by Cook, who registered one goal. The Dukes' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Cobourg power plays. Others who scored for Wellington included Josh Supryka and Nick Devito, who each put in one. More assists for Wellington came via Jacob Hetherington, Luc Brown, Abbott Girduckis, Brandon Kosik, and Jake Falcao, who each chipped in one. Wellington was unable to stop Cobourg from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cougars eventually piled up 47 shots on goal. Cobourg was helped by Connor Armour, who tallied one goal and one assist. Armour scored 19:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cobourg. Ryan OGrady assisted on the tally. Cobourg also got points from OGrady, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, Cobourg received assists from Jacob Friend and Taylor Gauld, who contributed one each. Olivier Lafreniere recorded 45 saves for the Dukes. Wellington incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Cougars' Stefano Durante stopped 26 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Cobourg incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
