Aurora holds on for 4-2 win against Trenton

The Trenton Golden Hawks tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Aurora Tigers held on for a 4-2 victory.

A goal by Callum Fryer put Aurora up 4-1 in the second period, but Trenton pulled to within two on Brady Wiffen's tally 6:51 into the third period.

Cameron Morrison had two goals to lead the Tigers to victory. Morrison found the back of the net 4:45 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Aurora and again while 12:35 into the second to make the score 3-0 Aurora.

Aurora's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Trenton power plays.

Aurora also got points from Fryer, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and Vince Figliomeni, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Aurora were Johnny Curran, who had two and Noah Delmas, Keaton Ratcliffe, and Eric Williams, who each chipped in one.

The Golden Hawks were held below their usual level of production. Trenton puts an average of 5.0 pucks into the net per game.

Trenton also got a goal from Christian DiFelice as well. In addition, Trenton received assists from Liam Morgan, Zach de Concilys, Hunter Fargey, and Braden Hellems, who contributed one each.

The Tigers' Andy Munroe stopped 21 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Aurora incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. For the Tigers, Sam Quaranta was ejected from the game. Justin Kapelmaster rejected 17 shots on goal for the Golden Hawks. Trenton incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
