Alder St. Recreation Centre    Mon, Feb 16, 2015

The North York Rangers' Michael Morgan scored 1:15 into overtime to beat the Orangeville Flyers, 3-2 (OT).

Morgan was all over the ice for North York, as he racked up two goals in the win.

The Rangers' penalty kill excelled, as North York gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

The Rangers' penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 10 minors and one major for 55 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 16.0 minutes per game North York had been spending in the box. The Rangers kept Orangeville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Nicholas Latinovich made 31 saves on 34 shots.

Jake Harris also scored for North York. In addition, North York received assists from Gabriel Valenzuela, who had two and Ted Hunt, Zachary Fung, Max Novick, and Ryan Takamatsu, who contributed one each.

The Flyers forced North York goalie Gianluca Baggetta to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Orangeville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 54 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Flyers were led by Kosta Likourezos, who tallied two goals. Likourezos scored the first of his two goals at 19:12 into the second period to make the score 2-1 North York. Likourezos' next tally made the score 2-2 with 18:26 left in the third period. Ryan Anton picked up the assist. More assists for Orangeville came via Colin Rigney, who had one.

The Rangers' Baggetta stopped 29 shots out of the 31 that he faced. North York registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. The Rangers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kyle Clarke was ejected from the game.
