Georgetown wins tough contest against Toronto Jr. Canadiens, 4-2Buckingham Downsview Arena Sun, Feb 15, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Georgetown Raiders gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Steve Hladin at 18:58 of the third period. Georgetown got the win on the strength of a great game by Hladin, who had two goals and one assist. The Raiders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Georgetown forced Toronto Jr. Canadiens goalie Nathan Colitto to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. Georgetown additionally got points from Anthony Marra, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Francois Cote also scored for Georgetown. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Brendan Jacome, who had two and Jake Clements, Eric Eustace, Liam Clare, and Josh Dickinson, who each chipped in one. The Junior Canadiens were helped by Nicholas Jarzabek, who registered one goal. Jarzabek scored short handed 9:33 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. A high sticking call on Eric Eremita put Toronto Jr. Canadiens on the penalty kill. Anthony Repaci picked up the assist. Toronto Jr. Canadiens also got a goal from Cody Symonds as well. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Jr. Canadiens were Justin Maiolino and Sal Filice, who contributed one each. Jack LaFontaine made 15 saves before being replaced by Marc Williams, who took the win and made eight saves. The Raiders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Colitto recorded 39 saves for the Junior Canadiens. Toronto Jr. Canadiens incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
