Hamilton rolls over St. Michaels, 8-1

The St. Michaels Buzzers had trouble finding ways to stop the Hamilton Red Wings, which beat Buzzers, 8-1.

Laine McKay was all over the ice for Hamilton, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win. McKay scored 9:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hamilton. Lucas Condotta picked up the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 3:39 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts.

The Red Wings excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Hamilton forced St. Michaels goalie George Argiropoulos to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots. The Red Wings surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Hamilton averages 3.7 goals per game.

Hamilton also got points from Otis Goldman, who also registered one goal and two assists, Condotta, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Josh LaFrance, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Hamilton also had goals scored by Kris Hamlin, Rylee St. Onge, Ryan Punkari, and Matt Smith, who scored one goal each. More assists for Hamilton came via Jeff Joynt, Jason OConnor, Joseph Mitchell, Joel Knight, and Carl Greco, who contributed one each.

The Buzzers managed to stay out of the box for the most part, totaling only one major for 15 minutes in penalty time.

Jordan Cartney made 24 saves for the Red Wings on 25 shots. Hamilton ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and had no power play opportunities. Team's Joynt and Hamlin were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. St. Michaels' Argiropoulos stopped 36 shots out of the 44 that he faced. For the Buzzers, Colton Trumbla was ejected from the game.
