St. Michaels wins tough contest against Mississauga, 4-3

The St. Michaels Buzzers and the Mississauga Chargers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but St. Michaels made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Matt Pepler at 11:40 of the third period.

The Buzzers forced Mississauga goalie Alex Lepore to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.

St. Michaels was led by Troy Oakley, who tallied two goals. Oakley scored the first of his two goals at 4:47 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Joseph Garreffa provided the assist. Oakley's next tally made the score 2-1 St. Michaels with 11:08 left in the second period. Bron Loiselle picked up the assist. Joseph Berton also scored for St. Michaels. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Ian Edmondson, Scott Teskey, Noah Jordan, and Cameron Searles, who contributed one each.

The Chargers were helped by Joseph Molinaro, who had two goals and one assist. Molinaro scored the first of his two goals at 4:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mississauga. Stefano Alonzi provided the assist. Molinaro's next tally made the score 3-2 St. Michaels with 4:46 left in the second period. Zach Sternbach assisted on the tally. Mississauga also got points from Sternbach, who also racked up one goal and two assists.

George Argiropoulos recorded 26 saves for the Buzzers. St. Michaels incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. For the Buzzers, Oakley was ejected from the game. Mississauga's Lepore stopped 39 shots out of the 43 that he faced. The Chargers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
