Penta leads Kingston to shutout victory over Toronto Jr. Canadiens

Matt Penta was superb between the pipes for the Kingston Voyageurs, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens.

Kingston was led by Adam Moodie, who had one goal and one assist. Moodie scored 15:37 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kingston. Joey Rutkowski provided the assist.

The Voyageurs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Toronto Jr. Canadiens power plays. Kingston's defensive play was more effective than usual against Toronto Jr. Canadiens. The Voyageurs allow 2.5 goals per game. Kingston's offense rang up 35 shots on the Junior Canadiens' net.

Kingston also got points from Adam Brady, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kingston also had goals scored by Colin Tonge and Alex Stothart, who each put in one. In addition, Kingston received assists from Zachary Emelifeonwu, who had one and Alex Tonge, who had two.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Junior Canadiens were held below their usual level of production. Toronto Jr. Canadiens puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. The Junior Canadiens forced the Voyageurs goalie Penta to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Penta recorded 38 saves for Kingston. The Voyageurs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Toronto Jr. Canadiens' Daniel Lopapa stopped 31 shots out of the 35 that he faced. The Junior Canadiens incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For Toronto Jr. Canadiens, Andrew Mullen was ejected from the game.
