Aurora outlasts Mississauga, 4-2

The Aurora Tigers gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Mississauga Chargers.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Nicholas Erb at 1:50 of the third period.

Erb had two goals to lead Aurora to victory.

The Tigers' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Mississauga power plays. Aurora forced Mississauga goalie Alex Lepore to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Others who scored for Aurora included Noah Delmas and Keaton Ratcliffe, who each put in one. In addition, Aurora received assists from Daniel Mantenuto, Drake Board, Johnny Curran, Shane Beaulieu, Eric Williams, and Mack Lemmon, who contributed one each.

The Chargers managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Mississauga ended up below its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Chargers were helped by Steve Mariani, who grabbed one goal. Mariani scored 4:58 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Zach Sternbach picked up the assist. Mississauga also got a goal from Scott Docherty as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mississauga were Nicholas Palumbo, Domenic Commisso, and Joseph Molinaro, who each chipped in one.

Marcus Semiao made 27 saves for the Tigers on 29 shots. Aurora incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Lepore recorded 32 saves for Mississauga.
