Stouffville squeaks by Milton, 4-3

The game between the Stouffville Spirit and the Milton Icehawks was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Stouffville emerged with a 4-3 win.

The Spirit gained the winning advantage on a goal by Nick Thomakos 6:10 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Stouffville was led by Thomakos, who racked up one goal.

The Spirit's offense rang up 45 shots on Milton's net.

Stouffville also got points from Tyson Bruce, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Alex Gilmour, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Stouffville also got a goal from Spencer Roberts as well. Other players who recorded assists for Stouffville were Jordan Nesbitt, Matthew Heffernan, Brodie Tutton, Chad Burrows, Robert Clark, and Michael Giacometti, who contributed one each.

The Icehawks forced Stouffville goalie Conor McCollum to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Milton was helped by Sean Walter, who had one goal and one assist. Walter scored 15:34 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Milton. Giusten Annetta APM provided the assist. Milton additionally got points from Kevin Hu, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Lucas Martellacci, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for Milton came via Johnathon Schaefer and Kevin Fitzpatrick, who each chipped in one.

McCollum rejected 29 shots on goal for the Spirit. Stouffville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Cosimo Lazzarino recorded 41 saves for the Icehawks. Milton incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
