Buffalo survives Toronto Patriots comeback, wins 3-2

The Toronto Patriots Patriots tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Buffalo Jr. Sabres held on for a 3-2 victory.

A goal by Ryan Kuhn put Buffalo up 3-1 in the third period, but Toronto Patriots pulled to within one on Jeremy Pullara's tally 9:36 into the third period.

The Jr. Sabres were paced by Kuhn, who racked up one goal and one assist. Kuhn scored on the power play 1:22 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Buffalo. Ben Casale picked up the assist.

Buffalo could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

Buffalo also had goals scored by Christopher Berger and Josh Gabriel, who scored one goal each. More assists for Buffalo came via Aaron Reinig, Tim Nicksic, David Baskerville, and Justin Cmunt, who contributed one each.

The Patriots kept the Jr. Sabres' goalie busy throughout the game, and Nate Skidmore made 32 saves on 34 shots. Toronto Patriots was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 18 penalty minutes.

Toronto Patriots also got a goal from Jacob Hayhurst as well. In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Louis DiMatteo, who had two and Ryall Ledyard and Niko Kovachis, who each chipped in one.

Buffalo registered two goals on seven power play opportunities. The Patriots' Mathew Robson stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Toronto Patriots registered two goals on seven power play opportunities.
