North York falls to Lindsay in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Lindsay Muskies pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the North York Rangers on a clutch goal by Austin Eastman.

Lindsay overcame a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Muskies fell behind 3-0 after a goal by North York's Will Reilly at 3:07 in the second period. Lindsay tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Logan DeNoble at 15:18 in the third period.

The Muskies were led by Eastman, who had one goal and one assist. Eastman scored 4:20 into overtime to make the score 5-4 Lindsay. Owen Barnett picked up the assist.

Lindsay managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Muskies wound up below its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. Lindsay kept the Rangers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Evgueni Makarski made 36 saves on 41 shots.

Lindsay additionally got points from Barnett, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Keegan Cairns, who also registered one goal and one assist, and DeNoble, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Lindsay also got a goal from Matt Tustin as well. More assists for Lindsay came via Brandon Washer, who had two and Mathew Lewis, John Macdonald, and Matthew Marchese, who each chipped in one.

The Muskies were unable to stop North York from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rangers eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

North York was led by Ryan Takamatsu, who had one goal and one assist. Takamatsu scored 19:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 North York. Matthew Whittaker assisted on the tally. Others who scored for North York included Gabriel Valenzuela and Luke Kutkevicius, who scored one goal each. In addition, North York received assists from Zack Fisher, who had two and Jeremy Szabo and Anthony Paveglio, who contributed one each.

Boyd Diclemente recorded 27 saves for Lindsay. The Muskies registered two goals on four power play opportunities. The Rangers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
