Toronto Patriots downs Georgetown in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Toronto Patriots Patriots pulled out a 2-1 (OT) overtime victory over the Georgetown Raiders on a clutch goal by Niko Kovachis.

Toronto Patriots was led by goalie Emanuel Vella, who finished with 30 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Vella will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.52.

The Patriots were led by Kovachis, who racked up one goal and one assist. Kovachis scored 1:08 into overtime to make the score 2-1 Toronto Patriots. Nathan Feric picked up the assist.

Toronto Patriots stifled Georgetown's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Patriots kept the Raiders' goalie busy throughout the game, and Marc Williams made 29 saves on 31 shots.

Quinn Syrydiuk also scored for Toronto Patriots. In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Jordan Oshowy, who had two.

Georgetown put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Toronto Patriots to score on any of its three power plays. The Raiders' offense operated below their season average. Georgetown puts an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game. The Raiders' offense rang up 31 shots on the Patriots' net.

Georgetown was led by Brendan Jacome, who scored the team's only goal. Jacome scored 5:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Georgetown. Josh Dickinson assisted on the tally.

Toronto Patriots incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Raiders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
