Gilmour leads Stouffville over Lindsay, 7-3

The Stouffville Spirit's Alex Gilmour had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-3 win over the Lindsay Muskies.

Gilmour's first goal came 3:40 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:21 into the first, at 10:30 into the second, and at 15:59 into the third.

Stouffville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Lindsay power plays. Lindsay was unable to stop the Spirit from sending pucks towards the net, and Stouffville eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. The Spirit outdid their season average for goals scored. Stouffville has scored at the pace of 3.7 goals per game during the current campaign. The Spirit got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Stouffville also got points from Michael Giacometti, who also finished with two goals and one assist. Stouffville also got a goal from Tyson Bruce as well. More assists for Stouffville came via Brodie Tutton, who had two and Matthew Heffernan, Chad Burrows, Matthew Dunlop, Christopher Brill-Morgan, and Joseph Deveny, who each chipped in one.

The Muskies forced Stouffville goalie Conor McCollum to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Lindsay was helped by Keegan Cairns, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Cairns scored 1:40 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Stouffville. Austin Eastman picked up the assist. Lindsay additionally got points from Eastman, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Logan DeNoble, who also registered one goal and one assist.

McCollum rejected 34 shots on goal for the Spirit. Stouffville totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. For the Spirit, Deveny was ejected from the game. Brett Chandler recorded 28 saves for the Muskies. Lindsay ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. The Muskies ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cairns was ejected from the game.
