Valenzuela's goals lift North York to 7-4 victory over Lindsay

Gabriel Valenzuela was all over the ice for the North York Rangers, as he tallied two goals in North York's 7-4 win over the Lindsay Muskies.

Valenzuela's tallies came short handed at 17:28 into the second period to make the score 5-4 North York and 18:08 into the third to make the score 6-4 North York.

Lindsay was unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and North York eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. The Rangers bested their season scoring average. North York averages 3.6 goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

North York also got points from Michael Morgan, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for North York included Austin Brown, Ryan Takamatsu, Brett Seldon, and Matthew Whittaker, who each put in one. More assists for North York came via Ted Hunt, Zachary Fung, Anthony Paveglio, Max Novick, Luke Kutkevicius, and Zack Fisher, who each chipped in one and Kyle Cochrane and Christian Zanetti, who contributed two each.

The Muskies' offense rang up 36 shots on the Rangers' net.

Lindsay was led by Logan DeNoble, who had two goals and one assist. DeNoble scored the first of his two goals at 15:27 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Lindsay. Jack Scanlan assisted on the tally. DeNoble's next tally made the score 4-2 Lindsay with 11:35 left in the second period. The Muskies found themselves down a man on Kristopher Diclemente's holding. Brandon Washer picked up the assist. Lindsay additionally got points from Scanlan, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Lindsay also got a goal from Joseph Vocino as well. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Austin Eastman and Keegan Cairns, who each chipped in one.

North York's Evgueni Makarski stopped 32 shots out of the 36 that he faced. The Rangers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Boyd Diclemente made 38 saves for Lindsay on 44 shots. The Muskies incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
