Whitby takes care of Mississauga early, wins 10-3Iroquois - Rink#1 Tue, Dec 16, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Mississauga Chargers fell behind early, and the Whitby Fury kept piling on the points on the way to a 10-3 victory. Whitby got the win thanks to a great game by Davis Kuksis, who had two goals and two assists. Kuksis scored the first of his two goals at 5:37 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jonathan OHara picked up the assist. Kuksis' next tally made the score 3-1 Whitby with 11:29 left in the first period. Ryan Erickson provided the assist. The Fury forced Chargers' netminders to work between the pipes, getting 38 shots and forcing 28 saves. Mitchell Heck made 24 stops and Alex Lepore made four. Whitby excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Fury bested their season scoring average. Whitby averages 3.9 goals per game. Whitby also got points from Stefan von Engelbrechten, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Erickson, who also had one goal and two assists, Kevin Dimagno, who also registered two goals and two assists, Nik Coric, who also racked up one goal and five assists to lead the team in points, and Daniel Robertson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Matt Fischer also scored for Whitby. In addition, Whitby received assists from Austin Fischer and Luke Keenan, who each chipped in one. Mississauga was helped by Joseph Molinaro, who had one goal and one assist. Molinaro scored 2:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mississauga. Stefano Alonzi assisted on the tally. Mississauga also got a goal from Thomas Lattavo as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mississauga were Vince Figliomeni, who had two and Tyler Cooper and Jordan Addesi, who contributed one each. The Fury's Tyler Feaver stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Whitby incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Chargers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. |
