Toronto Jr. Canadiens wins tough contest against Orangeville, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Orangeville Flyers.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Ryan Kruss secured the win for Toronto Jr. Canadiens with a goal in the third period.

Orangeville's power play was ineffective against the Junior Canadiens' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens was led by Kruss, who finished with one goal. Kruss scored on the power play 8:41 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Toronto Jr. Canadiens. The Junior Canadiens had taken the advantage when the Flyers' Adam Giacomin got sent off for interference. Justin Maiolino provided the assist.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Orangeville power plays. The Junior Canadiens' offense rang up 36 shots on Orangeville's net.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens also had goals scored by Aaron Spivak and Michael Cuddemi, who each put in one. In addition, Toronto Jr. Canadiens received assists from Luca Farrace, Kevin Hancock, and Nicholas Jarzabek, who each chipped in one.

The Flyers were led by Devon Gillham, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Gillham scored 5:30 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Colin Rigney assisted on the tally. Orangeville also got a goal from Matthew Barnes as well. Other players who recorded assists for Orangeville were James McLaughlin, who had one.

Nathan Colitto made 25 saves for Toronto Jr. Canadiens on 27 shots. The Junior Canadiens incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Wyatt Pickrell rejected 33 shots on goal for Orangeville. The Flyers incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
