Oakville blows out Mississauga, 8-3

The Oakville Blades were firing on all cylinders against the Mississauga Chargers, and when the final buzzer sounded Blades emerged with an 8-3 win.

Oakville's offense was sparked by Ross Sloan, as he ended with four assists in a victory against Mississauga.

The Blades forced Chargers' netminders to work between the pipes, totaling 38 shots and forcing 30 saves. Alex Lepore made 20 stops and Mitchell Heck made 10. Oakville outdid its season average for goals scored. The Blades have scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign. Oakville got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Oakville also got points from Brandon Hughes, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Greg Campbell, who also had one goal and one assist. Oakville also had goals scored by Kamil Tkaczuk, Paul Butler, Tanner Shaw, Sean Kohler, Max Lindsay, and Matt Lippa, who scored one goal each. More assists for Oakville came via Christian Rajic, who had two and Ryan Markovic, Ryan Burns, Josh Kosack, Brendan McGlynn, Tyler Burns, and Tyler Rollo, who each chipped in one.

The Chargers were led by Jordan Addesi, who registered one goal and one assist. Addesi scored 3:12 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Oakville. Marco Mattina provided the assist. Others who scored for Mississauga included Austin Broadhurst and Thomas Lattavo, who each put in one. In addition, Mississauga received assists from Nicholas Palumbo, Vince Figliomeni, and Mitch Mehling, who contributed one each.

McGlynn recorded 20 saves for the Blades. Oakville incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mississauga incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
