Oakville wins tough contest against Milton, 4-2Sixteen Mile Sports Complex Sat, Dec 06, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Oakville Blades gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Milton Icehawks. Oakville gained the winning advantage on a goal by Ryan Burns 3:16 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer. The Blades were led by Tyler Rollo, who tallied one goal. Rollo scored on the power play 14:01 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Oakville. Oakville had gotten the advantage when Milton's Anthony Baxter was sent off for holding. Josh Kosack provided the assist. In a losing effort, the Icehawks were paced by Sean Perichak, who tallied two goals. Perichak scored the first of his two goals at 13:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Milton. Mitch Graham picked up the assist. Perichak's next tally made the score 3-2 Oakville with 16:04 left in the third period. A goalie interference penalty on Sean Kohler had put Milton on the power play. Graham assisted on the tally. The Blades forced the Icehawks goalie Cosimo Lazzarino to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Oakville capitalized on Milton's penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage. Oakville also got points from Burns, who also registered one goal and one assist and Tyler Burns, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Oakville received assists from Kamil Tkaczuk, Brandon Hughes, Matt Lippa, and Ross Sloan, who each chipped in one. More assists for Milton came via Adam Burnett, who had one. Brendan McGlynn rejected 27 shots on goal for the Blades. Oakville ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For the Blades, Christian Rajic was ejected from the game. Lazzarino recorded 27 saves for the Icehawks. Milton incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. |
