North York blows out Mississauga, 6-2

The North York Rangers had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over the Mississauga Chargers.

North York was paced by Zachary Fung, who had one goal and one assist. Fung scored 9:16 into the second period to make the score 3-2 North York.

The Rangers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. North York's offense rang up 31 shots on Mississauga's net. The Rangers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. North York has scored at the pace of 3.7 goals per game during the current campaign. The Rangers got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

North York also got points from Christian Zanetti, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Matthew Whittaker, who also registered one goal and one assist. North York also got a goal from Luke Kutkevicius as well. More assists for North York came via Gabriel Valenzuela, who had two and Kyle Clarke, Ted Hunt, Max Novick, Michael Morgan, and Ryan Takamatsu, who each chipped in one.

The Chargers were led by Thomas Lattavo, who registered one goal and one assist. Lattavo scored 8:42 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Daniel Volpe assisted on the tally. Domenic Commisso also scored for Mississauga. In addition, Mississauga received assists from Mitch Mehling, who had two.

North York's Gianluca Baggetta stopped 22 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Rangers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Alex Lepore made 25 saves for Mississauga on 31 shots. The Chargers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
