The Trenton Golden Hawks could not hold down the Buffalo Jr. Sabres, and Jr. Sabres erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 7-6 win.

Buffalo let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Jr. Sabres took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Tim Nicksic at 4:10 in the first period. Buffalo found itself down 6-4 after Trenton's Brady Wiffen put the puck home on the power play at 12:10 in the third period. After tying things up at 6-6 on a goal by Zach Evancho at 19:30 in the third, the Jr. Sabres got the game-winner from Ryan Kuhn at 19:50 in the third period.

Buffalo forced the Golden Hawks' goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, finishing with 33 shots and forcing 26 saves. Riley Brown made eight stops and Justin Kapelmaster made 18.
