Toronto Patriots wins tough contest against Kingston, 3-2

The Toronto Patriots Patriots and the Kingston Voyageurs were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Toronto Patriots made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Marcus Rose at 19:23 of the third period.

The Patriots were led by Rose, who registered one goal.

Toronto Patriots forced Kingston's goaltenders to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots and forcing 35 saves. Matt Penta made 20 stops and Bryan Abell made 15.

Toronto Patriots also had goals scored by Tyler Currie and Jordan Oshowy, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Patriots were Nico Gonzalez, who had two and Niko Kovachis, Jacob Hayhurst, and Nicholas Ursitti, who each chipped in one.

The Voyageurs managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Kingston wound up below its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game. The Voyageurs' offense operated below their season average. Kingston averages 4.2 goals per game. The Voyageurs kept the Patriots' goalie busy throughout the game, and Mathew Robson made 33 saves on 35 shots.

Kingston was led by Cole Bolton, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Bolton scored 4:33 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Colin Tonge assisted on the tally. Kingston also got a goal from Joey Beaudoin as well. In addition, Kingston received assists from Michael Crocock and Jaylon Gorman, who contributed one each.

Toronto Patriots incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Voyageurs registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
