The Oakville Blades used a sparkling performance by Brendan McGlynn to take down the Newmarket Hurricanes, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Oakville's 5-0 shutout victory. The Blades got the win on the strength of a great game by Matt Lippa, who had one goal and two assists. Lippa scored 13:53 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Oakville. Josh Kosack provided the assist. Oakville's defense was surprisingly good. The Blades allow 2.4 goals per game.
