Georgetown rips Milton, 6-1

The Georgetown Raiders had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over the Milton Icehawks.

Steve Hladin had one goal and three assists to lead Georgetown. Hladin scored 6:41 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Blake Jones assisted on the tally.

The Raiders stifled Milton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Georgetown forced the Icehawks goalie Tyler Lewis to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots. The Raiders outdid their season average for goals scored. Georgetown has scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign.

Georgetown additionally got points from Brendan Jacome, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Georgetown also had goals scored by John Adams, who had two and Eric Eustace and Anthony Marra, who each put in one. More assists for Georgetown came via Jordan Brown, Liam Clare, Scott Emerson, Francois Cote, Jack LaFontaine, and Andrew Court, who each chipped in one.

Milton struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Raiders to score three power play goals on four chances.

The Icehawks were led by Michael Martellacci, who scored the team's only goal. Martellacci scored 6:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Milton.

Georgetown's LaFontaine stopped 15 shots out of the 16 that he faced. The Raiders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Tyler Lewis made 42 saves for Milton on 48 shots. The Icehawks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
