Oakville outlasts Lindsay, 5-4

The game between the Oakville Blades and the Lindsay Muskies was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Oakville emerged with a 5-4 win.

The Blades gained the winning advantage on a goal by Christian Rajic 13:47 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Oakville's penalty kill excelled, as the Blades gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

Oakville was paced by Rajic, who finished with one goal and one assist.

The Blades stifled Lindsay's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Oakville also had goals scored by Ryan Burns, Matthew McLeod, Matt Lippa, and Ryan Garvey, who each put in one. More assists for Oakville came via Josh Kosack, who had two and Max Lindsay and Jackson Bales, who contributed one each.

The Muskies' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Oakville power plays. Lindsay kept Oakville's goalie busy throughout the game, and Daniel Mannella made 28 saves on 32 shots.

The Muskies were led by Logan DeNoble, who grabbed one goal and one assist. DeNoble scored short handed 14:34 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Oakville. Lindsay was on a disadvantage when Brandon Washer went off the ice for high sticking. Austin Eastman picked up the assist. Others who scored for Lindsay included Michael Spataro, Matthew Marchese, and Connor Annett, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Joseph Vocino, Brock Spear, and Keegan Cairns, who each chipped in one.

The Blades incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Brett Chandler rejected 25 shots on goal for the Muskies. Lindsay incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
