Kingston survives penalties, beats Whitby, 4-1Iroquois - Rink#1 Tue, Oct 28, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kingston Voyageurs' penalty kill was superb, as Kingston survived multiple penalties to beat the Whitby Fury, 4-1. The Voyageurs were paced by Alex Stothart, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Stothart scored 7:27 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Kingston. Alex Tonge picked up the assist. Kingston's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Whitby power plays. The Voyageurs' offense rang up 33 shots on Whitby's net. Others who scored for Kingston included Blake ONeill, Adam Brady, and Cole Bolton, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Spencer Green, who had three and Joey Rutkowski and Rory McGuire, who each chipped in one. The Fury did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Whitby averages 4.2 goals per game. Kingston's Matt Penta stopped 21 shots out of the 22 that he faced. The Voyageurs incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. For Kingston, Jaylon Gorman was ejected from the game. Tyler Feaver rejected 29 shots on goal for the Fury. Whitby incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
