Huge game by Laidley boosts Aurora over Pickering, 7-3

The Aurora Tigers' Michael Laidley had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 7-3 win over the Pickering Panthers.

Laidley's tallies came at 8:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aurora and 9:40 into the second to make the score 4-2 Aurora.

Aurora excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Pickering was unable to stop the Tigers from sending pucks towards the net, and Aurora eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. The Tigers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Aurora averages 4.2 goals per game.

Aurora additionally got points from Daniel Mantenuto, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and Johnny Curran, who also had two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Aurora included Drake Board and Keaton Ratcliffe, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Aurora were Jordan DaSilva, Eric Williams, Cameron Morrison, and Liam Neuman, who each chipped in one and Callum Fryer and Matthew Bernard, who contributed two each.

The Panthers were helped by Chris Sekelyk, who registered one goal. Sekelyk scored 4:31 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Aurora. Dalton Lawrence provided the assist. Pickering also got points from Lawrence, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Joseph Mitchell also scored for Pickering. In addition, Pickering received assists from Kevin Dimagno, Mark Tenuta, Nicholas Lepone, and Riley Devine, who each chipped in one.

Andy Munroe made 24 saves for the Tigers on 27 shots. Aurora incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Pickering's Eric Pitcher stopped 37 shots out of the 44 that he faced. The Panthers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
