St. Michaels beats Kingston 3-2 after comeback scare

The Kingston Voyageurs tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the St. Michaels Buzzers would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

A goal by Ian Edmondson put St. Michaels up 3-1 in the third period, but Kingston pulled to within one on Alex Tonge's tally 5:55 into the third period.

The Buzzers were paced by Edmondson, who tallied one goal. Edmondson scored on the power play 1:25 into the third period to make the score 3-1 St. Michaels. Luca Doctor assisted on the tally.

St. Michaels' offense rang up 33 shots on the Voyageurs' net.

St. Michaels also had goals scored by Joseph Berton and Matt Pepler, who each put in one. More assists for St. Michaels came via Thomas Beretta, who had two and Sam Hunter and Marcel Fatovic, who each chipped in one.

Kingston could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Voyageurs put an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. Kingston kept the Buzzers' goalie busy throughout the game, and George Argiropoulos made 37 saves on 39 shots.

Kingston also got points from Adam Brady, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Kingston received assists from Joey Beaudoin and Joey Rutkowski, who contributed one each.

St. Michaels totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. For the Buzzers, Hunter was ejected from the game. Bryan Abell recorded 30 saves for the Voyageurs. Kingston totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. The Voyageurs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Blake ONeill was ejected from the game.
