Oakville falls to Trenton in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Michael Siddall gave the Trenton Golden Hawks a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Oakville Blades when he scored 2:15 into the extra period.

Siddall was all over the ice for Trenton, as he registered two goals in the win.

Oakville was unable to stop the Golden Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Trenton eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. The Golden Hawks' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Trenton finished with 34 penalty minutes.

Trenton also had goals scored by Robert Smythe and Brady Wiffen, who scored one goal each. More assists for Trenton came via Matt Pizzo and Nick Santoro, who contributed one each and Tyler Donaldson, Hunter Fargey, and Braden Hellems, who each chipped in two.

The Blades were ineffective while on the power play, as they were held to two goals off of nine man advantages. Oakville was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 26 penalty minutes.

The Blades were helped by Christian Rajic, who racked up one goal. Rajic scored on the power play 11:10 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Oakville had gotten the advantage when the Golden Hawks' Santoro was sent off for high sticking. Greg Campbell assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Oakville included Kamil Tkaczuk and Tanner Shaw, who each put in one. In addition, Oakville received assists from Brandon Hughes and Matthew Lippa, who contributed one each.

Justin Kapelmaster made 24 saves for Trenton on 27 shots. The Golden Hawks registered three goals on 11 power play opportunities. Trenton ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Chrisitian Lloyd was ejected from the game. Daniel Mannella rejected 40 shots on goal for the Blades.
