Toronto Patriots stifles North York's comeback, gains 6-4 victory

The Toronto Patriots Patriots came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the North York Rangers, but did just enough to escape with a 6-4 victory.

Toronto Patriots led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Patriots' Jacob Hayhurst scored on the power play at 16:05 in the first period to put Toronto Patriots up 4-1.

The Patriots got the win behind a great game by Hayhurst, who had two goals and two assists.

Toronto Patriots forced North York goalie Gianluca Baggetta to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Toronto Patriots additionally got points from Mack Graham, who also registered one goal and one assist and Niko Kovachis, who also had one goal and one assist. Toronto Patriots also had goals scored by Brett Markham and Nicholas Ursitti, who scored one goal each. More assists for Toronto Patriots came via Marcus Rose, Chris Maione, Connor Beck, Louis DiMatteo, Marco Bozzo, and Matthew Cairns, who each chipped in one.

The Rangers were helped by Michael Morgan, who registered one goal and one assist. Morgan scored 19:10 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Toronto Patriots. Christian Zanetti assisted on the tally. North York also got points from Gabriel Valenzuela, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for North York included Ted Hunt and Phillip Chadder, who each put in one. In addition, North York received assists from Anthony Paveglio, Max Novick, Ryan Takamatsu, and Matthew Whittaker, who contributed one each.

Mathew Robson recorded 25 saves for the Patriots. Toronto Patriots incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Baggetta rejected 30 shots on goal for North York. The Rangers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
